Big Bear Forest Fest 2026 is BACK!

Heads up, Forest Fest attendees! ️

A few important dates to keep in mind as we get closer to the event:

June 1st, 2026 – Deadline for cancellations and refund requests. After this date, we'll begin finalizing attendance numbers and purchasing food, event materials, and other event-related items. Because these expenses are incurred in advance, refunds cannot be guaranteed after June 1st. We know life happens, but these deadlines help us plan accurately and avoid purchasing food and merchandise for attendees who are unable to make it.

PRE ORDER T SHIRT SALES ARE NOW CLOSED!

We will have a limited number of shirts available for purchase at Forest Fest, but sizes and quantities cannot be guaranteed.

This year’s event features guided access to iconic Jeep Badge of Honor Trails, including John Bull, Gold Mountain, Holcomb Creek, and Dishpan Springs—giving Jeep owners the opportunity to earn badges while tackling some of the region’s most legendary routes. If you're more of a two wheel kinda rider we've got you covered with a 30 mile guided adventure run with the Big Bear Trail Riders!

Come reconnect with the community, support trail access and advocacy, and celebrate everything that makes off-roading special. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or a first-timer, this is an event you won’t want to miss!

Lodging & Camping Options

Make the most of your Big Bear Forest Fest experience by staying close to the action! Attendees can choose from several nearby full hook-up and RV-friendly campgrounds, including Big Bear Shores RV Resort, Pine Tree RV Park, Serrano Campground, and Holloway’s Marina & RV Park.

For those who prefer traditional lodging, popular nearby hotels include Best Western Big Bear Chateau, Robinhood Resort, and Holiday Inn Resort The Lodge at Big Bear Lake. Guests may also find a wide variety of cabins and vacation rentals through Airbnb and VRBO services.

Lodging fills quickly, so early planning is highly encouraged.

Gold Mountain - John Bull Combo: 3N16 – 3N02 Lead by Ethan Sanders & Matt Tackett (Corva Director) with American Offroad

Trail Rating Difficult: 8/10

Rig Requirements: At least 35's and both front and back lockers.

Difficult: Trail officially begins at Waypoint 03, not far from the Gate Keeper. A good spotter here will speed up the process. Winch points are hard to find. Many more boulders follow. Actual trail is 7 miles long.

From Highway 18 east of Big Bear Lake, follow signs to Big Bear Landfill, heading northwest from mile post 58. Turn left before the substation and follow Holcomb Valley Road, F.S. 3N16, uphill 2.2 miles to F.S. 3N02 on the right.

Trail Rating Moderate: 6/10

Rig Requirements: At least 35's and at least one locker.

42 miles, but can be shortened if time becomes an issue, just change route back to Hwy 18 and end at Wyatt’s. This is a large loop. Hwy, Forest Roads and Trails. No single large obstacle, just two tough boulder fields. Wet tires add to the difficulty as you cross Holcomb Creek several times. Stock vehicles not recommended, but some try it going downhill. Winch, lockers and skid plates highly recommended.

Big Bear to Pioneer Town - Lead by Matt West from Krawler Krew

Trail Rating Moderate: 4/10

Rig Requirements: No modifications needed.

This trail is 16 miles long. There are some deep sandy sections where 4WD will be required during some seasons. The creek section of the trail gets very rocky, and will require careful lines and/or spotting around tight corners with ruts and rocks up to 12" in height.

Horsethief Flats to Tip Top Mountain - Lead by Gary (Trail leader) from Bear Valley 4x4

Trail Rating Moderate 6/10

Rig Requirements: At least 33's. High Clearance Recommended, 4 Wheel Drive Required.

Bear Valley 4x4 a Corva Club will be leading this trail. Coming off of Highway 18 between Big Bear and Lucerne Valley it is about 1 mile along 3n03 to reach the offshoot of the Horsethief Flats Trail. The beginning of the trail is fairly easy being a single-vehicle-wide dirt road with a few spots to pull off and eat. Progressively the trail turns rockier and puts vehicles in more off-camber situations, with a few spots being near steep drop-offs. To descend into Horsethief Flats there is a steep, rocky, decline that may cause some under-built vehicle problems. To get down to Horsethief Flats, there are two options as the trail is split, neither being much easier than the other. During the descent, there is a great view out over Johnson Valley. In Horsethief Flats, there are many spots to stop and eat or even camp. This is an out-and-back trail, so it is necessary to climb back up the steep rocky section and retrace the rest of the trail back to 3n03.

SXS Trail - Cactus Flats Staging Area - Lead by Rusty Ryan from Friends of Hungry Valley

Trail Rating Moderate 6/10

Rig Requirements: No modifications needed.

Cactus Flat - 3N62 is a short trail that begins with a flat, easy drive through the high desert north of Big Bear, offering expansive views and a scenic cruise through scattered Joshua tree groves. The trail features a few dispersed camping turnouts that may support day or overnight use--verify with local agencies before setting up camp. To stay on route, drivers must keep left at the early fork. Beyond this point, the trail narrows and can become overgrown during the spring and summer months;trail-clearing tools are recommended. Boulder formations and desert flora add visual interest along the way. As the route progresses, the terrain becomes moderately technical with elevation shifts, minor rock crawling, and sections of uneven tread. The trail skirts a small cliff before contouring around the side of a mountain. This final stretch includes light off-camber angles due to trail erosion and may pitch vehicles uncomfortably. The trail dead-ends shortly after, and continuing beyond is not advisable for most vehicles.

Get ready for 30 miles of everything Big Bear does best — epic views, rugged trails, and good people — all guided by the local pros at Big Bear Trail Riders. This run will be leaving at 10am.

Dish Pan Springs: 3N34 - Lead by Ethan Sanders from American Offroad

Trail Rating Difficult: 7/10

Rig Requirements: At least 35's and at least one locker.

62 Miles.. A lot of hwy driving to trailhead. Steep rocky climbs with large boulders from 4,700 ft. altitude to 7,160 ft. altitude. Route leaves Wyatt’s and travels to Arrowhead Lake, then back to Wyatt’s. Rocks are often covered with fine sand making for poor traction. Hard-core modified vehicles only. Somewhat easier if driven downhill in reverse direction.

Gold Mountain: 3N69 - Lead by Bear Valley 4x4

Trail Rating Difficult: 7/10

Rig Requirements: At least 35's and at least one locker.

75% of the trail is very rocky and rutted with boulders you will have to maneuver either around or over and 25% of the trail consists of major obstacles that must be carefully assessed before proceeding.

An excellent Jeep trail filled with rock obstacles that vary in size from small to large. A technically challenging trail that's perfect for all rigs with 4x4 and high clearance. Any stock 4x4 can complete the trail with proper lines and spotting. You'll enjoy beautiful views throughout the trail and a once-in-a-lifetime drive through the Bone Yard rock garden.

Whether you just bought your Jeep or you’ve been eyeing the trails but aren’t quite sure where to start, this is your day. Developed by MetalCloak over a decade ago, Skillz Day is designed to give new Jeep owners the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience they wish they had from day one.

Join us for a full day of guided, real-world training at Hungry Valley SVRA—all in a safe, supportive, and supervised environment.

For just $25 per driver and $15 per passenger, you’ll walk away with skills that will completely change the way you experience your Jeep.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Think of this as Off-Roading 101—but way more fun.

Get to know your 4x4 and what it’s actually capable of
Understand lockers, sway bars, and when (and why) to use them
Learn how to pick the right trail and choose your line
What gear you should always bring on the trail
Off-road safety essentials every driver needs
Responsible recreation, land use, and keeping trails open
Recovery basics and live demonstrations
How to safely and effectively use a winch

One of the Mojave's most challenging trails! Pumpkin Eater changes constantly as loose rock and obstacles shift with every group that travels through. Trail conditions vary depending on weather, traffic, and vehicle setup, making every run a little different.
