Is the Forest Service Engaged in Secret Closing of OHV Trails?

August 14, 2017 7:16 PM | Amy Granat (Administrator)

CORVA has received notice of a number of OHV trails being closed to motorcycles and 4WD travel with no legitimate reason and no upper level authorization. Is this happening in your favorite forest?

Let CORVA know if you've found trails suddenly closed with no signs of damage consistent with a need for an emergency closure. We can't let the Forest Service continue to abuse our off-road rights. And remember, CORVA depends on your memberships and donations to take on the Forest Service and keep your trails open! Donate to Keep Your Trails Open

Lis Padres National Forest My Pinos District is the worst. They closed Snowy and Tinta by the asst rec officer calling the information assistant at the Supervisors office due to some trees down that were cut right away by volunteers. 3 months later they still post closure and won't address it with Ohv volunteers. They will not explain any closures to even their own volunteers. When volunteers are certified and offer to fix trails, they don't allow it.
