Whether you just bought your Jeep or you’ve been eyeing the trails but aren’t quite sure where to start, this is your day. Developed by MetalCloak over a decade ago, Skillz Day is designed to give new Jeep owners the knowledge, confidence, and hands-on experience they wish they had from day one.

Join us for a full day of guided, real-world training at Hungry Valley SVRA—all in a safe, supportive, and supervised environment.

For just $25 per driver and $15 per passenger, you’ll walk away with skills that will completely change the way you experience your Jeep.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN

Think of this as Off-Roading 101—but way more fun.

• Get to know your 4x4 and what it’s actually capable of
• Understand lockers, sway bars, and when (and why) to use them
• Learn how to pick the right trail and choose your line
• What gear you should always bring on the trail
• Off-road safety essentials every driver needs
• Responsible recreation, land use, and keeping trails open
• Recovery basics and live demonstrations
• How to safely and effectively use a winch

EVENT DETAILS

WHAT IS IT? A hands-on training experience where you’ll learn by doing—with guidance from experienced volunteers, industry partners, and off-road pros every step of the way.

WHO SHOULD COME?

• Brand new 4x4  owners
• Drivers with little to no trail experience
• Returning Skillz Day grads who want a refresher

If you’re already a seasoned wheeler who knows your way around the trails—this one’s not for you.

We split groups to give everyone more seat time, more coaching, and a better experience.

Extreme Jeep Trail

One of the Mojave's most challenging trails! Pumpkin Eater changes constantly as loose rock and obstacles shift with every group that travels through. Trail conditions vary depending on weather, traffic, and vehicle setup, making every run a little different.

Recommended Vehicle Requirements

• 40" tires recommended
• 37" tires with adequate recovery equipment
• Winch strongly recommended
• Recovery gear required

Enjoy a guided ride through the beautiful Mojave Desert.

FRIDAY NIGHT SCARE POKER RUN

Everyone is Welcome!

Bring your Jeep, SxS, motorcycle, or other street-legal off-road vehicle for a fun evening poker run through the desert.

Volunteers Needed!

Join CORVA as we partner with the Southern California Mountains Foundation to help maintain and improve the trails we all enjoy! Together we’ll help keep our public lands safe, accessible, and open for future generations.

For your safety, the following is required:
